Activists case: Pune police gets 90 more days for probe

Appearing for the police, senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi and Maharashtra standing counsel Nishant Katneswarkar argued that the matter was of great significance to the country and the police needed more time, as provided under the UAPA, to get details of the involvement of these activists with CPI (Maoist) cadres.

SC raps MP govt over detention of doc under NSA, nixes order

Holding it mandatory for a government authority to expeditiously deal with and communicate its decision on a representation made by a person against preventive detention, the Supreme Court on Friday invalidated an order passed by Madhya Pradesh government against a doctor after noting that no decision was taken on his representation for two months.
