Union home minister Amit Shah on Wednesday chaired a meeting to review the Delhi situation and directed Delhi Police to identify every mischievous element behind the violence and “anti-national acts”, such as foisting a religious flag on Red Fort.

SC raps MP govt over detention of doc under NSA, nixes order

Holding it mandatory for a government authority to expeditiously deal with and communicate its decision on a representation made by a person against preventive detention, the Supreme Court on Friday invalidated an order passed by Madhya Pradesh government against a doctor after noting that no decision was taken on his representation for two months.
