Rain lashes Delhi, mercury settles at 29.4° C

Heavy rains lashed parts of the national capital on Tuesday bringing down the maximum temperature to 29.4 degrees Celsius -- five notches below normal -- the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

SC raps MP govt over detention of doc under NSA, nixes order

Holding it mandatory for a government authority to expeditiously deal with and communicate its decision on a representation made by a person against preventive detention, the Supreme Court on Friday invalidated an order passed by Madhya Pradesh government against a doctor after noting that no decision was taken on his representation for two months.
