Noida police to red-card loiterers

Like referees in a football game, police officers in Greater Noida will now carry a red card in their pockets. These cards, police said, will be served by the state government’s “anti-Romeo” squads to any man found loitering around schools, colleges and public places.

SC raps MP govt over detention of doc under NSA, nixes order

Holding it mandatory for a government authority to expeditiously deal with and communicate its decision on a representation made by a person against preventive detention, the Supreme Court on Friday invalidated an order passed by Madhya Pradesh government against a doctor after noting that no decision was taken on his representation for two months.
