Rain eludes Delhi, mercury to rise

With rain eluding the capital for the past few days, temperatures are all set to rise again and touch 42 degrees Celsius by Friday, the IMD has forecast.

SC raps MP govt over detention of doc under NSA, nixes order

Holding it mandatory for a government authority to expeditiously deal with and communicate its decision on a representation made by a person against preventive detention, the Supreme Court on Friday invalidated an order passed by Madhya Pradesh government against a doctor after noting that no decision was taken on his representation for two months.
