EOW has started PE into assets of Uddhav & kin, Maharashtra tells Bombay HC

The statement was made after Justices D S Thakur and Valmiki Menezes had earlier in the day reserved their order on a PIL that sought a CBI and ED probe into Thackerays’ assets. “Preliminary enquiry is already initiated by EOW,” public prosecutor Aruna Pai informed the HC.

SC raps MP govt over detention of doc under NSA, nixes order

Holding it mandatory for a government authority to expeditiously deal with and communicate its decision on a representation made by a person against preventive detention, the Supreme Court on Friday invalidated an order passed by Madhya Pradesh government against a doctor after noting that no decision was taken on his representation for two months.
