Retd judge to probe charges against me: Deshmukh

State home minister Anil Deshmukh said on Sunday that inquiry by a retired high court judge into the allegations by former Mumbai commissioner of police Param Bir Singh would bring out the truth.

SC raps MP govt over detention of doc under NSA, nixes order

Holding it mandatory for a government authority to expeditiously deal with and communicate its decision on a representation made by a person against preventive detention, the Supreme Court on Friday invalidated an order passed by Madhya Pradesh government against a doctor after noting that no decision was taken on his representation for two months.
