Two men held for firing shots in air in Ggm

Two men were arrested on Tuesday allegedly for firing shots in the air during an Independence Day celebration in a park in Firozgandhi colony, police here said. Pistol which was used in the firing also has been recovered, said police.

SC raps MP govt over detention of doc under NSA, nixes order

Holding it mandatory for a government authority to expeditiously deal with and communicate its decision on a representation made by a person against preventive detention, the Supreme Court on Friday invalidated an order passed by Madhya Pradesh government against a doctor after noting that no decision was taken on his representation for two months.
