1 dead, 4 injured in Delhi Metro station wall collapse

A 53-year-old man died and four were injured after a boundary wall of Gokulpuri Metro station collapsed, DMRC suspended two staff and initiated an investigation. Police filed a case of negligence. Victims, including a rice supplier, were on a scooter. DMRC offered ex gratia. Case registered under relevant IPC sections. Debris cleared with JCBs and cranes.

SC raps MP govt over detention of doc under NSA, nixes order

Holding it mandatory for a government authority to expeditiously deal with and communicate its decision on a representation made by a person against preventive detention, the Supreme Court on Friday invalidated an order passed by Madhya Pradesh government against a doctor after noting that no decision was taken on his representation for two months.
