High court bats for policy to deal with redevelopment affecting senior citizens

Bombay high court on Wednesday said there has to be a State policy to deal with delays in redevelopment projects that are affecting senior citizens. “Why can’t you (State) care about senior citizens? Have a policy,” said Justices Girish Kulkarni and Firdosh Pooniwalla. They heard a petition by Mulund (W) resident Jayashree Dholi (64) who vacated her flat in 2019 in Navin Manju building that was to be redeveloped.

SC raps MP govt over detention of doc under NSA, nixes order

Holding it mandatory for a government authority to expeditiously deal with and communicate its decision on a representation made by a person against preventive detention, the Supreme Court on Friday invalidated an order passed by Madhya Pradesh government against a doctor after noting that no decision was taken on his representation for two months.
