Delhi: After weekend showers, Met sees relief till Aug 1

After a disappointing Thursday in terms of rain, Friday brought relief to the capital with most parts receiving light to moderate showers as overcast conditions remained prevalent throughout.

SC raps MP govt over detention of doc under NSA, nixes order

Holding it mandatory for a government authority to expeditiously deal with and communicate its decision on a representation made by a person against preventive detention, the Supreme Court on Friday invalidated an order passed by Madhya Pradesh government against a doctor after noting that no decision was taken on his representation for two months.
