BMC fines 1,300 for illegal parking

In the almost two months since the BMC began implementing its new no-parking rule, over 1,300 vehicle owners have been penalised, adding over Rs 83.9 lakh to civic coffers.

SC raps MP govt over detention of doc under NSA, nixes order

Holding it mandatory for a government authority to expeditiously deal with and communicate its decision on a representation made by a person against preventive detention, the Supreme Court on Friday invalidated an order passed by Madhya Pradesh government against a doctor after noting that no decision was taken on his representation for two months.
