Delhi student held in Mumbai for hoax call to NIA

Inspiration from a Hindi movie might have landed a 22-year-old Delhi youth in jail. On Thursday, Subhamkumar Pal made a call to National Intelligence Agency (NIA) in New Delhi and said “something big” was to happen in Mumbai the next day.

SC raps MP govt over detention of doc under NSA, nixes order

Holding it mandatory for a government authority to expeditiously deal with and communicate its decision on a representation made by a person against preventive detention, the Supreme Court on Friday invalidated an order passed by Madhya Pradesh government against a doctor after noting that no decision was taken on his representation for two months.
