Mumbai: No fare hike for suburban commuters

In a New Year gift for Mumbai, Indian Railways has announced that there will no hike in fares of suburban train tickets and season passes.

SC raps MP govt over detention of doc under NSA, nixes order

Holding it mandatory for a government authority to expeditiously deal with and communicate its decision on a representation made by a person against preventive detention, the Supreme Court on Friday invalidated an order passed by Madhya Pradesh government against a doctor after noting that no decision was taken on his representation for two months.
