NE Delhi: FIR against Cong ex-MLA, AAP councillor

Delhi Police has named former Congress MLA Mateen Ahmed and AAP councillor Abdul Rehman for holding rallies without permission, which had allegedly instigated protesters against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) to join rioters at northeast Delhi’s Jafrabad on December 17.

SC raps MP govt over detention of doc under NSA, nixes order

Holding it mandatory for a government authority to expeditiously deal with and communicate its decision on a representation made by a person against preventive detention, the Supreme Court on Friday invalidated an order passed by Madhya Pradesh government against a doctor after noting that no decision was taken on his representation for two months.
