CBI books GST officer for disproportionate assets

The CBI has registered a case against assistant commissioner, CGST, Deepak Pandit, for possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. Three of Pandit's family members have been booked too.

SC raps MP govt over detention of doc under NSA, nixes order

Holding it mandatory for a government authority to expeditiously deal with and communicate its decision on a representation made by a person against preventive detention, the Supreme Court on Friday invalidated an order passed by Madhya Pradesh government against a doctor after noting that no decision was taken on his representation for two months.
