Jafrabad women move sit-in protest to Seelampur

The stretch below Jafrabad Metro Station, which was occupied by women protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Act, was vacated around 7.30pm on Tuesday. As surrounding areas went up in flames and mobs unleashed fury on common people just a few hundred metres away, a call for clearing the place went out.

SC raps MP govt over detention of doc under NSA, nixes order

Holding it mandatory for a government authority to expeditiously deal with and communicate its decision on a representation made by a person against preventive detention, the Supreme Court on Friday invalidated an order passed by Madhya Pradesh government against a doctor after noting that no decision was taken on his representation for two months.
