CR plans second class in AC local to woo riders

In a sign of things to come, the Central Railway has proposed having two classes in AC trains-first and second-and tweaking the fare structure to draw passengers towards the air-conditioned service.

SC raps MP govt over detention of doc under NSA, nixes order

Holding it mandatory for a government authority to expeditiously deal with and communicate its decision on a representation made by a person against preventive detention, the Supreme Court on Friday invalidated an order passed by Madhya Pradesh government against a doctor after noting that no decision was taken on his representation for two months.
