Soumya Vishwanathan murder: All 4 accused in 2008 case convicted

Four men have been convicted for the murder of journalist Soumya Vishwanathan in 2008, after a 15-year-long legal battle. The Delhi court found the prosecution had provided sufficient evidence, including witness testimonies and scientific evidence, to prove the charges beyond reasonable doubt. The court also convicted an associate of the accused under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act. Sentencing will take place on October 26. The case was cracked during the investigation of another murder in 2009, leading to the conviction of three of the accused in that case as well.
