NCP president Sharad Pawar has called a meeting of NCP legislators and office bearers on July 5, while Congress legislature party leader Balasaheb Thorat has called a meeting of Congress legislators on July 4 to take stock of current political situation.

SC raps MP govt over detention of doc under NSA, nixes order

Holding it mandatory for a government authority to expeditiously deal with and communicate its decision on a representation made by a person against preventive detention, the Supreme Court on Friday invalidated an order passed by Madhya Pradesh government against a doctor after noting that no decision was taken on his representation for two months.
