Mumbai: Appellate tribunal stays MERC tariff schedule for Tata Power

An interim order passed by the Appellate Tribunal for Electricity (APTEL) has given a stay to the MERC tariff schedule of Tata Power for 2023-24 and allowed the utility to bill its consumers as per the previous tariff order of 2020. This could mean savings of 25-35% for over 7.5 lakh consumers across Mumbai in all categories, a senior official from Tata Power said on Thursday.
