20 die as 2k-ton Samruddhi Expressway bridge girder, launcher crash 115 ft

Twenty people, including four engineers, died and three were injured after a launcher and girder, totally weighing 1,950 tons, collapsed from a height of 115 feet during construction of a bridge on Samruddhi Expressway near Sarlambe village in Thane's Shahapur, around 80km from Mumbai, late Monday night.

SC raps MP govt over detention of doc under NSA, nixes order

Holding it mandatory for a government authority to expeditiously deal with and communicate its decision on a representation made by a person against preventive detention, the Supreme Court on Friday invalidated an order passed by Madhya Pradesh government against a doctor after noting that no decision was taken on his representation for two months.
