High court asks two lawyers to verify pothole death in Kalyan

Bombay high court on Wednesday appointed a commission of two practising lawyers to ascertain whether the death of a biker in Kalyan last month occurred while trying to dodge potholes.

SC raps MP govt over detention of doc under NSA, nixes order

Holding it mandatory for a government authority to expeditiously deal with and communicate its decision on a representation made by a person against preventive detention, the Supreme Court on Friday invalidated an order passed by Madhya Pradesh government against a doctor after noting that no decision was taken on his representation for two months.
