BMC gives 86-yr-old, bedridden wife water and power back after HC rap

In a relief to four occupants of a Bandra (West) building, including an octogenarian and his bedridden wife, the Bombay high court recently directed the BMC to forthwith reconnect water and power supply to the building.

SC raps MP govt over detention of doc under NSA, nixes order

Holding it mandatory for a government authority to expeditiously deal with and communicate its decision on a representation made by a person against preventive detention, the Supreme Court on Friday invalidated an order passed by Madhya Pradesh government against a doctor after noting that no decision was taken on his representation for two months.
