In Mumbai, share auto and taxi stands now outside 28 Metro stations

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Transport Authority (MMRTA) has approved the establishment of share auto-taxi stands outside 28 Metro stations in the suburbs. This initiative aims to provide seamless last-mile connectivity to passengers. The stands will be set up on a six-month pilot project basis and will be monitored for congestion and traffic snarls. If successful, the stands will become permanent. The routes will connect stations to nearby commercial hubs and densely populated housing colonies. The MMRTA has also directed the display of fares and destinations and coordination with the BEST authorities for affordable bus journeys.
