Delhi-Rera order stalls registration of properties

The Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) in Delhi has directed sub-registrars to halt the registration of new properties that violate the maximum number of dwelling units allowed under building regulations. RERA has also instructed civic bodies not to approve building plans that exceed the permitted number of units. The Delhi BJP has criticised the order for favouring wealthy property owners, while the AAP government claims RERA falls under the jurisdiction of the central government.
