Where's compliance? Ward office asks govt agencies

The BMC's K-West ward in Mumbai has sent letters to government agencies, including Mhada, MMRDA, and SRA, stating that they are not following the civic body's anti-pollution guidelines. Ward officials are conducting inspections at construction sites and urging the agencies to comply with the newly issued BMC guidelines for air pollution mitigation. Violations were found at Metro construction sites as well. The ward has requested legal action against the owner and individuals responsible for unlawful dumping and removal of debris. The BMC had previously registered a case but there was no follow-up by the police.
