Farm fires dipped this month but impact on Delhi air rose

Delhi experienced its worst PM2.5 pollution in November, with an average concentration of 243 micrograms/cubic metre, just below the severe level. This is the highest recorded level since 2018. The share of pollution from stubble-burning in Delhi's air quality rose sharply, accounting for 15.1% of PM2.5 levels, the highest for the month since 2018. Despite a decrease in farm-fire incidents in Punjab-Haryana, the impact of stubble burning on Delhi-NCR's air quality was significant due to meteorological conditions and low dispersal of pollutants.
