Pay Rs 2.5k crore in ‘damages’, DDA tells Roshanara Club
Delhi Development Authority has demanded Rs 2,485.7 crore as ‘damages’ from Roshanara Club Limited (RCL) for operating the club even after the expiry of its two leases in 2012 and 2018. DDA claims that RCL operated without permission after the leases expired. RCL members argue that they were told a new lease policy was being formulated by the Union housing and urban affairs ministry. The club has been given seven days to respond to the demand. Delhi High Court is already hearing a case on RCL's eviction from the complex.
